Frequently asked questions — international patients

This page answers the questions Cellon most often receives from prospective patients living outside Korea. For procedure-specific questions, see each procedure page. For physician credentials and publications, see the About Dr. Kang page.

About the clinic and the physician

Q1.Who performs the procedures at Cellon?

All major procedures are personally performed by Dr. Kang Seunghoon, a board-certified dermatologist and the clinic's founder. Dr. Kang has authored peer-reviewed clinical research in Dermatologic Surgery and Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. See About Dr. Kang for credentials, society memberships, and publication list.

Q2.Where is Cellon located?

Cellon is in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul — a 5-minute taxi from Apgujeong Rodeo Station (line 7) or Cheongdam Station (line 7). The Cheongdam medical district is the standard destination for international medical tourism in Seoul.

Q3.What languages does the clinic support?

Korean (native), English, Chinese, and Japanese — supported in writing via multilingual messengers (KakaoTalk, WeChat, LINE, WhatsApp, Instagram). In-room translation is arranged for English, Chinese, and Japanese on advance request.

Regulation and safety

Q4.Are these procedures legally regulated in Korea?

Yes. Cellon operates under the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) framework. Every device used (Ultherapy, Thermage FLX, thread products, fat-graft processing kits) is MFDS-registered, and physicians are licensed by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare. For specific stem-cell program scope, see the answer to Q6.

Q5.What are the most common side effects?

Transient redness, mild swelling, and tenderness are common across most procedures. Bruising occurs in some patients receiving injection-based treatments (filler, fat graft, threads). Severe complications (infection, prolonged nerve irritation, vascular events) are rare but possible — all reportable side effects are listed on each procedure page.

Q6.Is stem cell therapy legal in Korea?

Korea regulates stem cell use strictly under MFDS authority. Cellon's stem cell programs operate within the permitted scope — including autologous adipose-derived applications and partnerships with research-grade material sourcing. Cellon does not offer treatments outside the regulated scope. Please contact the clinic directly for the specific program details applicable to your case, as the regulatory landscape continues to evolve.

Procedures and outcomes

Q7.What is Cellon's signature procedure?

The clinic is best known for two clinical programs: (a) the Non-Surgical Lifting Program — a patient-specific combination of Ultherapy (HIFU) and Thermage FLX (RF); (b) the Triple-Lock Thread Lift — a thread lifting technique built on Dr. Kang's published vertical thread lifting research (Dermatologic Surgery, 2017).

Q8.How long should I plan to stay in Korea?

Most of Cellon's procedures have no downtime, so a 2 to 3 day stay is sufficient for most international patients (consultation + procedure + one short check-in). Procedures involving fat graft or fat repositioning may benefit from a 5 to 7 day stay to allow initial swelling to resolve before flying.

Q9.Will I see results immediately, or does it take time?

Energy-based lifting (Ultherapy, Thermage FLX) and thread lifting show initial firming within days, with full collagen remodeling continuing for 3 to 6 months. Fat-graft and fat-repositioning results stabilize over 2 to 3 months as the transferred tissue settles. Stem cell programs are designed for cumulative effect rather than immediate change. See each procedure page for procedure-specific timelines.

Q10.Can I combine multiple procedures in a single visit?

Often yes, with proper sequencing. Energy-based lifting is usually performed first; threads and fillers can be staged 1 to 2 weeks later or in adjacent sessions. Dr. Kang reviews the entire sequence at consultation to avoid procedure interactions.

Booking and follow-up

Q11.How do I book a consultation from outside Korea?

Contact Cellon via any of the multilingual messengers listed in the footer (KakaoTalk, WeChat, LINE, WhatsApp, Instagram). Send a brief description of your concern and any reference photos; the clinic will reply with a consultation slot and approximate fee range. Email is also accepted.

Q12.What about follow-up care after I return home?

All international patients receive an aftercare protocol document and direct messenger contact for follow-up questions. Cellon's standard photographic checkpoint at 3 months can be coordinated remotely via messenger.

Q13.Why does Cellon emphasize Dr. Kang's published research?

Many aesthetic clinics market specific brand-name devices. Cellon's clinical position rests on Dr. Kang's published clinical research — particularly thread-lift technique papers in Dermatologic Surgery — which guides Cellon's combination protocols. For patients comparing Korean clinics, peer-reviewed publication history is one objective signal of clinical depth. See About Dr. Kang.
